UNIFORM, EQUIPMENT & WEAPON BASICS:

GETTING STARTED WITH THE 5th RANGERS

Below are the "basic requirements" to getting started with a 5th Ranger impression. While these items are the minimum needed to participate and own your own impression; they are not the minimum needed to begin attending events. Even if you only have a few of the items; you can start re-enacting. Existing members will be more than happy to loan you missing pieces of your impression including weapons so that you can get started in the unit. If you are interested in doing so; please contact us. If you do decide to borrow bits of your impression to get started and buy only part of the basics at first, its recommended that you get your Jump Boots and wool uniform to start.

The prices listed are a generalized minimum to average amount that you can expect to spend. This is to say that you can find the items listed for near that cost. You can always spend more on an item and you can usually find deals on originals or reproductions if you hunt them out, so prices paid will vary. Prices do not inclued additional recommended items. For vendor information click here. An overview of Uniforms, Weapons, and Equipment is also available on our website. Use the navigation menu at left under "Re-enacting The 5th:".

Items with an asterisk ( * ) should not be purchased initially for your impression; but if you already have them they are permitted for use. Typically these items were not used by the 5th; or used in a limited basis such as HBT fatigues.
